Waste Water Evaporator

ShoreVAP–Gas Fired Waste Water Evaporator

The ShoreVAP waste water evaporator has been engineered to efficiently evaporate the water content from many non-combustible waste water sources. A power exhaust system releases the moisture into the air, leaving only a small residue requiring disposal.

This massive reduction in the volume of liquids requiring disposal not only slashes disposal costs, but also economizes by reducing storage area requirements, labor and time for handling, and frequency of disposals. All ShoreVAP water evaporators have been designed to operate simply and efficiently, and are constructed of quality materials and equipment to assure trouble-free operation and long-life service, as demonstrated by the thousands of systems in service. Installation is easy.

The ShoreVAP is available in gas or electric heated models. Call us for our water evaporation energy calculation sheet. Evaporation rates range from 5 to 40 gallons per hour. An optional Auto Fill System automates the process and allows for 24 hour operation.

Make your place the NO DISCHARGE ZONE! The SHOREVAP wastewater evaporator ZERO LIQUID DISCHARGE With this simple, rugged device, all your waste waters automatically heated to boiling and turned into vapor that is then vented to atmosphere through a blower-assisted stack. Venting is easy. Water vapor is not considered a pollutant. DOES IT AFFECT YOU? You bet! The FEDS are coming!

* Evaporation rates are calculated using water only.
Your evaporation rate may be different depending on your waste stream and environmental conditions.
Evaporation rates will be less with electric over natural gas.
GAS-FIRED UNITS operate on as little as $0.05 per gallon evaporated. Construction includes our rugged 3/8” tank-top frames and heavy 12 gauge tanks of carbon steel, 316L stainless steel, or other alloys. Safety systems include primary low level control and thermostatic control. In addition, all gas-fired units include AGA/CGA certified burners with gas pressure regulation, automatic electronic ignition, flame rectification sensing,
positive airflow sensing, and thermally protected blowers.

These units use large 6 1/2” diameter, Schedule 10, immersion tube heat exchangers which are located well above a funneled floor to allow significant collection and concentration of sludge and solids without covering the burner tube. The oversized heat exchanger surface area is extremely efficient, allowing for a more accurate water distillilation while avoiding water misting.

The obstruction-free funneled floor and perimeter mounted burner tubes simplify clean out. Our exclusive variable weir skimmer is standard on all units.

Industries Served & Applications:

Many of the wastewater streams found in the following applications and industries have been reduced with the ShoreVAP.

Machine Coolant Water, Parts Washer Water, Hot Tank Water, Stem Cleaner Water, Dye Penetrants, Floor Scrubber Water, Water Base Paint Washup, Alkaline Cleaners, Stencil Cleaner, Wire Draw Compounds, Phosphatizing Compounds, Paint Spray Water, Compressor Concentrates, Mop Waters, Rinse Waters, Die Cast Solutions, Water Based Inks, Tumbling and Vibratory Fluids, Photographic Solutions.

FEATURES:

Evaporation is the simplest and most cost effective method for minimizing a wide variety of industrial water-based waste streams. It has been approved by many regulatory agencies around the country as a safe and accepted method for on-site wastewater minimization. SkimOIL, with the experience gained from over 20 years of manufacturing experience and thousands of systems in the field, is the industry leader in providing high value, reliable, and easy-to-operate wastewater evaporators. All ShoreVAP Waste Water Evaporators come with the following standard features.

HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION:

The harsh environment inside a wastewater evaporator requires that only heavy gauge materials be used. All tanks (Carbon and 316L Stainless Steel) are of mig welded, 12 gauge steel construction (316L Stainless steel units also have covers, lid, and vent stack of stainless steel). The top tank frame, which provides rigidity and support, is of solid 3/8″ steel plate. The electrically heated Model 85E also has a 3/8″ solid steel plate floor/heat exchanger. On the gas fired systems, the burner tubes are manufactured with Schedule 10, 6½” O.D. tube. All exterior sheet metal is 16 gauge painted steel.

EASE OF CLEANOUT:

The largest operating cost of a water evaporator (which other evaporator manufacturers do not like to discuss) is the maintenance time required to clean the sludge and/or concentrate from the system. Being well aware of this from our many years of manufacturing experience, ease of cleanout was a primary concern in the design. To minimize cleanout time, a fully removable cover is provided that allows for complete access to the entire tank. Next, most have a low top frame height which allows easy accessibility without the need of footstools or stands. On the gas heated ShoreVAP units, the burner tubes are located around the perimeter of the tank, leaving an obstruction free center cleanout area with a deep funneled floor for draining of liquids. The electric units, have an obstruction free floor with a 2″ step down drain port for draining free flowing fluids..

SAFETY SHUTDOWNS:

All ShoreVAP water evaporators have redundant shutdown systems to ensure proper and safe operation. The primary shutdown is a low level displacement switch that deactivates the heating system when the fluid level reaches a point just above the heat exchanger surface. The secondary shutdown is a thermostat controlled sensor that measures the temperature of the heat exchanger surface. By measuring the actual heat exchanger surface, the unit can sense high sludge or oil buildups that are not easily detected using externally mounted thermostats. On gas fired units, an AGA certified burner with electronic ignition provides additional safety systems.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY:

As the volume of wastewater increases, the energy costs of evaporation rise accordingly. The key to energy efficiency is the heat transfer area of the burner tube or heat exchanger. The large, 6½” diameter burner tubes on the gas models provide as much as 200% more heat transfer surface than competitive systems, thereby minimizing heat up time and decreasing energy costs. This large surface area has an additional advantage in that fewer hot spots are created and any sludge or scale buildup which can insulate and reduce system efficiency is minimized. Of course, all of our water evaporator tanks are fully insulated to further increase efficiency and safety of the system.
